Air Compressors, air treatment equipment, separators and dryers with different technology are used in home appliances manufacturing plants in almost every stage of production.

Instrument air: Instrument air or pneumatic signals is often used for automated instruments in process industries. Instrument air is used for picking, pressing, drilling, moving and placing electronic components. Atmospheric air is filtered, compressed, treated by dryers and finally, it’s used as instrument air. The instrument air supply system typically consists of filters, compressors, separators, aftercoolers, intercoolers and air dryers.

Air used for this system is sucked in by compressor through air filter in order to eliminate any particles that can cause damage to the system and it is compressed to required pressure. Then the compressed air is dried using separators with demister pads and wire mesh. After this step, in order to dry compressed air further, dryers are used to remove moisture and droplets. Then dried and cooled compressed air is sent to instrument air supply headers which are equipped with low pressure alarm and very low pressure trip over which usually triggers shutdown of the whole system.

Process Air: In electronic industries, toxic, reactive, hazardous and corrosive gases, organic solvents, particles and other contaminants from the process must be treated before they can be vented into atmosphere. Corrosive gases are used in the semiconductor fabrication process to clean process equipment and semiconductor wafers, to etch substrates and for chemical vapor deposition. Handling the exhaust gases from these operations in a way that protects the environment and workers’ health and safety is a major concern. In order to remove all contaminants generated through processing of manufacturing electronic components, air treatment technology is used. Same as electronics industries, air contaminants produced in painting and powder coating sections of these industries, should be removes before venting it into atmosphere.

Cleaning air: In electronic industries cleaning air is used in many applications through entire process. It is used for cleaning and polishing PCB’s, removing chemical deposits on wafers after etching, cleaning air knives in LCD panel manufacturing and providing high quality clean air for clean-rooms.

Nitrogen soldering: During electronics manufacturing, nitrogen gas is used to maintain a clean, dry, inert atmosphere. It is used particularly for reflow soldering of PCB’s, wave soldering of PCB’s, selective soldering of PCB’s, soldering with lead-free solder pastes and controlled atmosphere storage of SMD components. Soldering machines and drying cabinets, all rely on pure, sufficient and on-demand nitrogen supply.

Hoists: Air hoists have been used for lifting in various industries since 1900’s. Using compressed air for lifting has come a long way since then. Today’s advance technology offers air hoist with 120 tons lift capacity with even food grade applications and also with a wide array of options and accessories.

Picking and moving: In today’s production line in many industries, compressed air is used for picking materials, components and parts and moving them around for further processes or storage. It is used in packaging stage as well.

Folding and bending: Compressed air is used in bending and folding pneumatic machines which make and shape home appliances body panels for refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, gas stoves etc.

Spray: In some home appliances manufacturing companies which make freezers, dryers, gas stoves, etc. panels and housings of mentioned products are spray pained or powder coated in spray rooms. Air quality for equipment used for painting and powder coating those surfaces, have to be clean and free of any contaminants, compressed air and air treatment equipment are used to provide pressurized, clean air required in this stage of production.

Conveyors: Almost in all industries conveyors are used for transferring materials, components, parts and final products around production plant for further processes and storage. Compressed air is used for pneumatic conveyors to move materials, components and products.

Pneumatic tools: Compressed clean, oil, contaminant free air is used for various pneumatic tools such as pneumatic screw drivers, wrenches, drills etc. for assembling various products in production assembly lines and working stations in home appliances manufacturing companies.

Robots: Using robots in many industries such as automotive industries, packaging, food, etc. is on the rise for many reasons. They are faster, more accurate and reliable as well. One wire put in the wrong panel, or one bolt out of place can mean the difference between a functional appliance and something that will be thrown out and wasted. In home appliances manufacturing companies, washers, dryers, and refrigerators, along with other smaller appliances, all have intricate electrical parts, along with pieces that need to be welded and assembled on a production line. With the help of robots, these appliances can be made in a fraction of the time it would take to produce them by hand.

Along with the speed, there is also the need to improve the accuracy. By using robots, companies are able to improve the precision of their assembly line, also eliminate workers’ errors, which enhance the quality of the product for consumers. Waste water treatment: In electronics industries, as well as any other industries, recycling waste water and reusing it as industrial water, is on the rise due to environmental regulations and water shortage in many industrial sites. Environmental protection authorities in any country have specific regulations and water quality requirements for waste water discharge and treatment. Now, every manufacturing plant should have its own water treatment plant in order to recycle waste water and reuse it in production process.

Electricity supply: Air compressors are used in these industries for starting diesel-engine generators in case of network power failure in order to avoid loss of production.
